Dear Customers,
Today, I would like to inform you of a fundamental change regarding my pre-order shop.
As of August 24, 2026, I will no longer be accepting new customers. Effective immediately, orders from new customers will generally be declined or cancelled.
Nothing will change for our existing clients, regular customers, and anyone who has proven to be reliable in the past. Existing pre-orders will, of course, be processed and shipped as agreed. Future orders from these customers will also remain possible until further notice.
This decision is driven by economic factors. Unfortunately, recent years have shown that a significant number of new customers place pre-orders that remain unpaid, even after invoicing. This results not only in financial losses but also in a considerable amount of extra work. Models that have already been firmly ordered from the manufacturer must subsequently be sold elsewhere—often at a loss and with significant effort—such as on eBay, where additional sales fees apply.
This situation is no longer economically sustainable in the long run.
The operating costs and the significant time investment are no longer proportionate to the losses incurred.
I have therefore consciously chosen to take this step before closing the pre-order shop entirely.
The goal is to continue operating the shop on a smaller, economically viable scale for my loyal and reliable customers. As part of this transition, the product range will also be adjusted. Moving forward, the shop will primarily feature models, manufacturers, and scales for which there is proven demand among my existing customer base, based on my many years of experience.
The previous concept of offering pre-orders for almost all model cars announced by a wide variety of manufacturers will be discontinued.
It is not economically justifiable to manage hundreds or thousands of items when a large proportion of them generate no demand. Existing customers may still inquire about models outside the standard product range.
Wherever possible, I will of course make every effort to source them.
My newsletter will continue as before. Anyone interested is welcome to subscribe and receive updates on new releases. However, subscribing to the newsletter does not entitle one to become a new customer.
I deeply regret that this step has become necessary. Yet, my experiences over the past few years have left me with no other choice.
Another decisive reason for this strategic shift is the new EU packaging regulation, which has fundamentally altered my business model.
It is not simply a matter of higher postage costs for customers, as shipping fees are already borne by the buyers.
The real burden lies in the associated additional legal requirements, registrations, licensing, and administrative overhead. For my small business, these regulations would have entailed additional annual costs of nearly 10,000 euros—a financial burden that is simply unsustainable.
As a result, I have not only had to stop shipping to the EU but have also lost a significant portion of my potential customer base.
Under these conditions, it simply no longer makes sense to maintain the claim of being Europe’s largest pre-order shop for model cars.
Offering a vast product range for a market I can no longer serve directly would be neither economically viable nor sustainable for the future. I am therefore consciously moving away from this concept.
Going forward, economic prudence, reliability, and the long-term stability of my shop will take precedence—not the size of the inventory or the number of items offered.
Consequently, existing promotional materials and statements regarding this will be gradually updated or removed.
I would like to sincerely thank all my loyal and reliable customers for their trust and support over the years.
You are the reason I am able to continue operating this shop in its adapted form.
I ask for your understanding regarding this decision.
